Botanical descriptions :

Habit : Small trees, up to 8 m tall.
Leaves : Leaves compound, digitate, alternate, spiral, pulvinate, stipule adnate to the petiole; petiolules 1.3-2.5 cm long; leaflets 6, lamina 9-14 x 4-5.5 cm, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, apex acuminate, base acute or asymmetric, chartaceous; secondary_nerves 8-12 pairs, looped; tertiary_nerve reticulate.
Inflorescence / Flower : Inflorescence lateral; flower umbels 1.3 cm in diameter arranged in panicled racemes.
Fruit & Seed : Drupe; seeds compressed.

Ecology :

Common in high elevation evergreen forests above 1400 m.

Distribution :

Endemic to the Western Ghats- Nilgiris.
