Botanical descriptions :

Habit : Small trees, up to 8 m tall.
Branches and Branchlets : Branchlets glabrous.
Leaves : Leaves compound, pinnate, alternate, spiral, stipulate; leaflets 8-11, lamina 7-10 x 3-4 cm, ovate-oblong, apex caudate-acuminate, base rounded, asymmetric, entire, coriaceous; secondary_nerves ca. 10 pairs, slender; tertiary_nerves broadly reticulate.
Inflorescence / Flower : Inflorescence panicled umbels; flowers green.
Fruit and Seed : Berry 5-angled, subglobose, pyrenes 5-8; seeds compressed.

Ecology :

Rare in high elevation evergreen forests, between 1500 and 1800 m.

Distribution :

India and Sri Lanka; in the Western_Ghats- Nilgiris, Anamalai and Agasthyamalai Hills.
