Trunk & bark : | Bole straight or leaning, often fluted, bark pale grey or brown, flaking. |
Branches and branchlets or twigs : | Twigs angular, glabrous. |

Leaves : | Leaves simple, alternate, glabrous, elliptic, apex obtuse and acuminate, base attenuate, margin entire. Midrib flat above, secondary veins obtuse, widely parallel, tertiary veins oblique. Stipules absent. |
Inflorescences or flowers : | Flowers violet-pink, arranged in a many-flowered terminal panicle, bisexual, pedicels longer than 0,5 cm. |
Fruits : | Fruit capsule, up to 4 cm long, with 5-6 large teeth, splitting into 5 - 6 sections. |
